Visa combines VisaNet data with onchain lending to power stablecoin card working capital

Visa is leveraging its proprietary global payment network to bridge the gap between enterprise card processing and decentralized finance. With stablecoin settlement volume on its rails surging 15-fold year-over-year to surpass a $20 billion annualized run rate, the payments giant is acting to resolve the persistent working capital bottlenecks constraining crypto card issuers. By feeding real-time VisaNet transactional data directly into onchain credit protocols, Visa is enabling blockchain-based lenders to programmatically underwrite dynamic, revenue-backed credit lines to the issuers driving this exponential volume.
At the technical core of this architecture is the translation of offchain payment telemetry into verifiable smart contract inputs. Historically, stablecoin card programs faced severe capital inefficiencies, requiring capital-intensive pre-funding in fiat or stablecoins to cover authorization windows prior to final netting. Under this new mechanism, cryptographically secured oracles and privacy-preserving data pipelines bridge key VisaNet metrics—such as gross processing velocity, cross-border settlement latency, and net chargeback ratios—directly into decentralized credit pools.
